| Barberry shares many properties with its Northwestern counterpart Oregon Grape Root. A bitter herb originally from Europe, it is now cultivated in North America for both ornamental and medicinal purposes. Barberry has been shown to be beneficial in back pain, resulting from kidney weakness or congestion. Barberry is a disinfectant and helps relieve pain during urinary infections. It acts as an antispasmodic and relieves pain from kidney stones and helps clear urine with thick mucus or red sediments. | Used for kidney and bladder infections, kidney stones, nephritis, diabetes, and hemorrhoids.
